For those who have decided to sign up for satellite TV service, the only real choices these days areDISH Network and DirecTV. In general, DISH Network is a but less expensive than DirecTV and I believeDISH Network is ahead with the technology. For example, there is some 1080p HDTV content available on DISHNetwork right now, but not on DirecTV. Both companies seem to take turns claiming that they have the most HDTV channels, but it all depends onhow the channels are counted. You will come up with different numbers when you include per-per-viewor “on demand” channels and as you might expect, both companies will use numbers that make it looklike they have the most HD channels. I don’t think HDTV content is a big concern since both companies have plans to continue offering newHDTV channels and I think they will end up being about the same. Â If you are a big sports fan, DirecTV may be a good choice because they do offer some sports packagesthat DISH does not offer.
